The Winter Palace is a historical house a stone’s throw away from the Casino de Monte Carlo in the Carre d’Or district on Boulevard des Moulins, a street famous for some of the best names in shopping. The building was designed in the style of Belle Epoque but inspired by the famed Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The property is a beautifully renovated two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and marble floors throughout. It was designed by Pitti Mosaici a master from the Florentine family, de Filippis. He is a reviver of the Medici Renaissance technique of Pietre Dure or the practice of using pieces of stone to create beautiful pictures in works of art.
The corridor is 9.5 m2 of marble floor that leads to a 9.2 m2 kitchen with white cabinets and golden orange counters.
There’s also a 5 m2 powder bath with a stand-up shower with glass doors and gold furnishings.
On the other side of the corridor is the first bedroom. It’s a 17 m2 room with a Moquette floor and a small balcony that opens to the outside. There’s a mural painted on the walls of a beautiful countryside scene done in soft sketch style.
From there you find a large sitting area with a bay window section and a seating fixture that takes up the entire space under the windows. On the opposite side are sizeable wooden library shelves with furnished volumes.
The other side of the library or studio area is a dining area.
The master bedroom is a 25 m2 room with Moquette floors and gorgeous details such as molding and ornate hanging light fixtures. It’s attached to one of the most beautiful parts of the apartment, the master bath. Laundry and storage are located on either side of the entrance to the room.
The bath is decorated with wall to wall mirrors with gold detailing, marble countertops and white cabinetry. There are floral-patterned murals painted from the tops of the mirrors to the ceiling, giving it a hanging garden feel.
