About Winter Palace
4, Boulevard des Moulins, 98000, Monaco
The Winter Palace is a historical house a stone’s throw away from the Casino de Monte Carlo in the Carre d’Or district on Boulevard des Moulins, a street famous for some of the best names in shopping. The building was designed in the fanciful and optimistic style of Belle Epoque, a style from the late nineteenth century to the first decade or so of the twentieth, but inspired by the famed Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia. Belle Epoque known for its exciting curves and flourishes along windows and doors, and ironwork throughout the balconies.
Winter Palace comprises 7 stories and features two entrances: one from Boulevard des Moulins and the other one from the opposite side of the building from Avenue de la Madone. As an advantage, you can register your company at this address, as Winter Palace is a mixed-use building.
The property is a beautifully renovated two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and marble floors throughout. It’s full of gorgeous details that set the condo apart from others and the modern double-glazed windows, which were specifically created for this residence, make the street noise literally non-existent. Luxury apartments in Monaco are frequently done in the style of design masters, and this one is no different.
It was designed by Pitti Mosaici a master from the Florentine family, de Filippis. He is a reviver of the Medici Renaissance technique of Pietre Dure or the practice of using pieces of stone to create beautiful pictures in works of art.
The corridor is 9.5 m2 of marble floor that leads to a 9.2 m2 kitchen with white cabinets and golden orange counters. The oven is wide and perfect for cooking full meals. The flat cooktop is a clean look. There’s a small wine cooler just to the left of the stove, plus plenty of cabinet storage for everything you might need.
There’s also a 5 m2 powder bath with a stand-up shower with glass doors and gold furnishings. The gilded mirror above the vanity is large enough for guests to check their outfits and powder noses before heading back out. The dark marble countertops are a perfect foil to the light marble floors.
On the other side of the corridor is the first bedroom. It’s a 17 m2 room with a Moquette floor and a small balcony that opens to the outside. There’s a mural painted on the walls of a beautiful countryside scene done in soft sketch style. The hanging light fixture has a beautiful ceiling detail that mimics the Belle Epoque style of the building exterior.
From there you find a large sitting area with a bay window section and a seating fixture that takes up the entire space under the windows. It’s perfect for sitting down to read as you watch the scenes from the streets below. On the opposite side are sizeable wooden library shelves with furnished volumes. The wood is a gorgeous golden tone.
The other side of the library or studio area is a dining area. It has details such as ornate sconces on either side of a gilded mirror, and the wallpaper is a glamorous green with a Fleur de Lis inspired pattern. The doorways are extra wide and have molding around the edges, which helps to ground them and provide visual interest.
The master bedroom is a 25 m2 room with Moquette floors and gorgeous details such as molding and ornate hanging light fixtures. It’s attached to one of the most beautiful parts of the apartment, the master bath. Laundry and storage are located on either side of the entrance to the room.
The bath is decorated with wall to wall mirrors with gold detailing, marble countertops and white cabinetry. There are floral-patterned murals painted from the tops of the mirrors to the ceiling, giving it a hanging garden feel. The windows flood natural light into the room, reflecting off the mirrors. A large clawfoot tub with gold hardware sits on top of white marble floors and is surrounded by Grecian style walls.
There are beautiful windows off to the side of the master bedroom space. Every detail is considered including stained glass details on many of the interior doors, molding around doorways and ceilings for visual interest and depth. The floors are a mixture of marble with inlay details, a staple in Monaco luxury apartments for sale, and Moquette flooring, which is very durable and feels good in the bedrooms.

This means that you will always have access to fresh and delicious Mediterranean groceries when you decide to stay at home and cook a meal for you and your family.
From here, you have a magnificent view of the symbol of Monaco – Casino de Monte Carlo. It will take you just 3 minutes of walk from your apartment in Winter Palace to get there. You can literally visit the casino as if it is your own home.
If gambling is not your cup of tea, how about a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the famed Cafe de Paris located on the casino square? Here you can spoil yourself with some traditional French desserts as well as sophisticated main course dishes.
The last, but not the least is the new development One Monte-Carlo located next to Winter Palace and the Casino. The project is designed by the international architectural studio Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) which are based in London. The significance of the project is in the fact, that beside the residential units, the development is set to revive the whole district by hosting office and commercial spaces as well as creating a new pedestrian street between Avenue des Beaux-Arts and Jardins de la Petite Afrique.
No one can deny the fact that Winter Palace is the best possible residential address in the whole Principality of Monaco.
